Workshop for PhD students Nov 3

Institute of Excellence in Internationalization and Faculty of Law UP invite PhD students to an online workshop to develop international and intercultural teamwork and project skills on November 3, from 1 pm to 6 pm. Workshop is led by Christopher Medalis, PhD and Eva Janebová, PhD. Please note that the number of participants is limited; you can register here.

In this short graduate-level course, we will explore how to effectively communicate, develop international projects, implement intercultural communication, and lead international groups. The presentations and interactive activities will lead to learning outcomes that will equip students to function in a global environment in their future (academic) careers. This includes searching for international grant and project funding. Instructors will be American and Czech, and will bring different backgrounds, perspectives, solutions, and tools to working in such teams.

Students will:

  • enhance their intercultural skills in their academic work and be able to function in an international environment,
  • learn how to search for, analyze, and prepare international grants and funding opportunities which can support international and intercultural academic, research, and project work,
  • improve skills and competences to work in international teams, focusing in particular on overcoming challenges to virtual collaboration,
  • create personal international professional vision which incorporated intercultural teamwork perspectives and personal leadership growth.

This course is co-funded by the Erasmus plus Grant Mitigating Covid together: Enhancing Capacities of Academics and Students in Virtual Learning and Teaching Spaces, num. 20201-CZ01-KA226-HE-094288.
